MEMORANDUM FOR ALL ARIZONA NATIONAL GUARD PERSONNEL
SUBJECT: Support for Military Associations
1. Members of the Arizona National Guard may benefit from affiliating with military
associations and other professional groups. In the profession of arms, it is important to
support organizations that develop and advocate for the interests of our service members.
There are a variety of national military associations which include the National Guard
Association of the United States (NGAUS), the Association of the United States Army
(AUSA), the Air Force Association (AFA), the Enlisted Association of the National Guard of
the United States (EANGUS), and the Reserve Officers Association (ROA). State military
associations include the National Guard Association of Arizona (NGAAZ) and the Enlisted
Association of the National Guard of Arizona (EANGA).
2. Historically, military associations have furthered the development of the profession of
arms. Additionally, these groups work to enhance awareness of our mission with the
citizens of our state and country. These efforts help promote readiness for both our national
and state missions.
3. Occasionally, these military associations may request assistance in distributing
information about their activities or they may request logistical support for their
events/programs. Each contact needs to be individually evaluated, with the facts of that
particular contact determining whether and how the Arizona National Guard might be able
to support that particular association. Please seek out legal advice for your particular case
through your service Staff Judge Advocate.
4. Military associations represent an important dimension of our country’s strong interest in
national defense. I encourage your involvement with military associations to the extent
allowable by applicable laws, regulations and policies.
5. Point of contact for this memorandum is Lieutenant Colonel Neal Rodak at 602-267-
2753, neal.p.rodak.mil@mail.mil.
